Please take a minute out of your day to enjoy wednesday. It doesn’t get a lot of love since it’s stuck in the middle of the week. In other news, we were just added to the Active Child residency at the Echo this month on Aug 22! The show is free and there are a lot of swell bands playing throughout the month including Robotanists, Corridor, Correatown, Man/Miracle, Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground and much more…
Hope to see you there! Check out Active Child here —> www.activechildmusic.com

Some of you may know, a while back RP sampler master Jay Watford had to retire from the group to pursue other sound constructions. WE WILL MISS YOU JAY.
To fill the gaping hole he left in the RP sound, we’ve brought on-board Trevor Avery, a reenactment of Trevor is depicted in the above picture. We found him on the street after he had just walked out of a church filled with light. Disoriented, he continued to explain he had been in a plane crash on an island 100 miles off the coast of Fiji, he’d be trapped there with time traveling magnetic pockets of energy and some annoying ghost-god things…blah blah blah
Yeah right, Trevor…(he smokes dry-wall for fun we found out)
Trevor’s favorite color is piss, he has one sausage hand and looks forward to learning how to play music.

June Zandona described to us the video she intended to make for the first track from our 2010 release, Rich Soil Pleasures, last summer. She said something to the effect of “Its about Dream Therapy”. The next time we heard from her she handed over a video that blew us all away! Be sure to send it around to all your friends

Dear Friends,
We are beginning a new creative process and we want to clue you in.
The recording studio is a tool not all musicians get to use effectively. In the past, we’ve made records with the means at our disposal, which have been pretty minimal over all. With the help of Mudrock at The Hobby Shop, we managed to make a great record really fast last year. Time in a great studio has always been that for us: really fast and true to form. Rich Soil Pleasures is pretty close to what you would hear us play at a show and takes the form of exactly what we wrote before heading into the studio.
Today, we are starting a new process. Again, with the ever-appreciated help of Mudrock, we are going to approach this new batch of music we have brewing from a different angle, recording a couple songs a time and releasing them to you in small bites over the next few months. Our hope here is to open the door to a new method of studio production that will put a more thoughtful touch on our recordings and translate our songs from sound waves to needle to record in the best possible way, which will hopefully take forms that surprise and delight us all!
We hope you are as excited as we are to get this new music out there and we hope you enjoy the fruits of this experiment as much as we do.
And in we go.

The time has come to head back into the Hobby Shop and work with Mudrock (of Godsmack fame, our previous records, and general highland park music do-gooder). We are going to be recording songs one or two at a time over a period of weeks. Things will be coming out all the time so STAY TUNED.
